Vegas
Just returned from a short trip to Vegas. I enjoyed the dry heat, but was happy to return to a place where I can smell fresh earth in the air. The highlight of our trip was The Neon Museum, a collection of old neon signs from Vegas from the '40s to present. My professor, Judy Natal, did a series and book on the "boneyard" a few years back. We also discovered a thriving art scene just south of Fremont (downtown Vegas) -- tons of artist work/gallery spaces in rehabbed industrial buildings.
